Pilbara Health Web Poll

New poll: Stay cool in the sun- How do you take the heat out of summer?

Please take part in our quick online poll and let us know.

Being More Sun Smart

It appears as though Pilbara Health readers are not as sun smart as they should be. Most Pilbara Health readers only apply sunscreen once a day, even during a typically hot summer’s day. The Cancer Council recommends that sunscreen should be applied 20 minutes before you go outdoors and every two hours afterwards. Also, 60 per cent of Pilbara Health readers aren’t wearing enough sun protective clothing and accessories. Remember, in order to protect yourself from harmful UV rays, its important to slip, slop and slap!

If you would like more tips on how to stay cool in the summer, read some of our articles on Heat
You can also share your tips to other readers by leaving a comment on any of the articles.
