Prime time for a pit stop

Prime Health’s recent East Pilbara pit stops attracted more  than 300 participants and were particularly useful for  many employees who had not had a health check since  their pre-employment medical.

East Pilbara injury management advisor Anoop Biswas  recognised the need to screen at Yandi and West Angelas  due to changing health profiles on site.

“Each worker was advised of their levels of health in  comparison to Australian norms and those deemed to  be at risk where referred back to their GP for further  investigation,” said Anoop.

Advice and motivation was provided to participants  promoting small but effective lifestyle changes to improve  their quality of life in the long term.

Thankyou to the Pilbara Iron staff and Prime’s exercise  physiologists who made the pit stops such a success.

A special thank you to the Kim Cooper, Venne Macleay,  Simon Mattiaccio, Joel Mowday, Melinda Aisbett and  Pilbara Health specialist Elaine Kennedy for assisting Anoop in putting the project together.

More pit stops are planned for 2007 and dates will be announced soon.  Please email Joel Mowday at West  Angelas or Kim Cooper at Yandicoogina  for more information.
