As the clock chimed midnight on December 31, most of us would vow that we are going to change our lives in some way.
Frequently, we promise ourselves to lose weight, stop smoking, budget, exercise, go on a dream holiday or become a better person, only to find ourselves sheepishly making excuses 12 months later.
The key to success is a little thought, some planning and most importantly, keeping your ‘resolution experience’ positive.
Instead of a broad statement, identify the specific actions you need to take to achieve your objective and make that your resolution! For example, if you want to improve your fitness, resolve to walk three times a week, or to join a local sporting team.
Clarifying your resolution is the first step to success. Remaining committed once you are in to the hustle and bustle of the new year is the second.
Over the next couple of weeks take some time for think about what you would like to achieve in 2006 and how you will go about making it happen.
