If you over indulged during the silly season and are feeling a little worse for wear, don’t despair. Now is a great time to put that New Year’s resolution into practice and get fit and healthy for 2007. All it takes is a little motivation and a bit of discipline to get back on track.
Start by reviewing your daily diet. Remember to pack foods that will sustain you through the day such as sandwiches with whole grain bread or pasta. Eating smaller, more regular meals can help to keep you feeling full and satisfied keeping fatty and sugary foods to a minimum.
Drink plenty of water to keep you well hydrated. Do the urine colour check if you are ever unsure of your hydration levels. Try to keep caffeinated, sugary and alcoholic drinks to a minimum.
Last but not least, get moving for a healthier, happier life. Exercise can be a drag if you are not doing something you enjoy so get a group of friends together and go walking, play a team sport or go the gym. Whatever suits your lifestyle and keeps you motivated.
